Sandra Ernstoff BA(Hons) Oxon, CIPFA
Sandra is an experienced education consultant. A trained accountant, she has worked for many years in local and central government, as well as periods in the voluntary and private sectors. Her last permanent jobs were 7 years as Assistant/Deputy Director of Education of local authorities. Self employed since 2001, her last role was managing new schools and acquisitions for a large private provider of special schools. Prior to that, she was a Project Director for Free Schools at the Education Funding Agency responsible for delivering sites and buildings for new free schools. Other experience includes managing large school development projects for local authorities and providing policy advice on education reform at the Cabinet Office.
She has been a school and college governor for over 30 years. This has included 4 years as Chair of an FE College Corporation and more than 20 years chairing the Resources Committee of a large secondary converter academy in Brent. She spent a year as a member of an Interim Executive Board, set up to manage a failing secondary school pending its transfer to an academy chain.
She is a specialist member of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.
Her interests are school management, academies and free schools and construction/development projects.
